A Short History Of Nearly Everything 2.0 by Bill Bryson
I just finished reading A Short History of Nearly Everything 2.0 by Bill Bryson. I read the first edition about 20 years ago.
I really enjoyed reading it again. The book encompasses lots of different scientific topics ranging from origin of the universe, over the size and composition of the earth to the discoveries of elements and sub-atomic particles. It then moves over to the formation of the planet and then origin and evolution of life and finally explores our journey to becoming humans.
All of the chapters not only focus on the discoveries but all on the scientists and explorers and their back stories. It a really entertaining read given you insights into the lives of the people shaping our understand of almost everything :)
Let me know if you would like to read it and I will lent to it you.
